Accessibility Statement
Effective date: September 19, 2026
Astrid Lind wants astridlind.com to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification or voice control.
Our target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
Where we stand
The Site was audited on September 19, 2026 against WCAG 2.1 AA. What we measured:
| Check | Result |
|---|---|
Page language declared (lang) | Pass – en-US on every page |
| Text contrast (4.5:1 normal, 3:1 large) | Pass – 92 text elements measured on the home page, no failures |
| Images have alternative text | Pass – all 170 images across 20 pages |
| Keyboard focus visible | Pass – 3px outline plus a contrasting ring, via :focus-visible |
| Keyboard traps | None found |
| Skip-to-content link | Present |
| Landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer) | Present on every page |
Positive tabindex values | None |
| Carousel: pause control (WCAG 2.2.2) | Present, with an accessible name |
| Carousel: previous/next controls named | Pass – aria-label on each |
| Form fields with a programmatic label | Pass, with one known gap (below) |
Known gaps we are working on
- Form error messages are not programmatically linked to their fields. Required fields do not yet carry
aria-describedbypointing at the error text, so a screen-reader user may hear that a field is invalid without hearing why. (WCAG 3.3.1, 3.3.3.) - We have not yet completed testing with real assistive technology. Our audit so far is automated and manual-keyboard. Testing with NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver is planned.
- Reflow at 400% zoom has not been formally verified on every page.
We publish these rather than claim full conformance, because claiming conformance we have not verified would be worse than saying where we are.
Third-party content
Parts of the Site are produced by WordPress and the Elementor page builder. Where their output falls short of WCAG 2.1 AA we work around it, but we do not control their code.
